Well,it is impossible to fold any paper in half the same way more than 8 times.
So no more than that.

Newspaper, no more than seven or eight times. But eight is easily exceeded with much larger sheets. Google it, it's been proven ad nauseum, even saw it done on public TV.

It's an old wive's tale.
