My stepdad abuses me, can I leave?

I live with my mom and step dad, I don't really talk to my dad. Anyways, I feel unsafe here because my step dad touches me and stares at my breasts, butt and he looks down my shirt. I and the people around me see it. Sometimes when I wash my clothes he takes my underwear. I don't want to do this anymore, its been going on for 8 years,since they got married, and I'm sick of it. My mom is very sick so she can't do anything. I was wondering if I could get an emancipation. I wouldn't abandon her, I'd come back and take care of her, which I'd get paid for. And I'd move in with my best friend. Do courts emancipate people for that?

I don't know but if your step dad does thet I would call the cops! That is sexual harasment.

there is something your mom can do if she has noticed this...Leave him! this is again sexual harassment, get the social services or cops on him, if you want to put a stop to this then you need to make a move before things go beyond this.

DO NOT PUT UP WITH THAT!!! The same thing happened to me with several of my moms exs and no one should ever have to put up with nasty a*s perverts like that . Tell your mom and if she does nothing about it then call the cops and have his a*s thrown in jail and if your mom does nothing about it try and find someone close to you in your family and see if you can stay with them. I am so sorry for you and I hope you can do something to get this to stop before it turns into something more than touching and gauking.

ya you really need to do sumthing about this! and like the other people say it is called sexual harrasment. you need to do sumthing fast before things start to get worse!
Try talking to your mom and tell her wats going on! and if she don't want to leave him then you can go talk to the cops and they will find you a safe house to go live in. but ya do sumthing fast before its to late!

I can't. My moms in a hospital bed in our house and he pays for food and part of the medical bills and bills around the house, and I don't know what they'd do with my little sister.

talk to the cops and let them no how things are at the house! I am sure they will help u. And if its your moms house then they will kick him out.

You said you don't really talk to your dad. Do you talk to him at all? If so maby you should put a bug in his ear and let him know what is happening to you. He is your dad and you are his little girl and he should protect you in some way or another.

Unfortunately to what I've read so far courts rarely convene to emancipation of minors. The one thing that that would lead you to maybe foster parents or divorce of your parents. Eitherway there needs to be sustainable evidence and credibility on your part, if you can gather the such then you should contact an attorney or an organization dealing with protection for the minor such as yourself.
But one question how are you thinking on getting paid for taking care of your mom? Seems to me that the only way to do that would be to get the divorce and have your step dad pay for all that.
Best for both of you is to get a good attorney and file a divorce and compensation.

You really should call the cops just tell them whats going on and you can't leave your mom. I think the best way is for him to leave. Even though he pays for things I'm sure you could get help from other people. Maybe you should call your real dad and talk to him about this even though you may not be close to him he still cares and will want to help you.

Girl I don't know why you are still there. I fu told your mom and she didnt leave him you need to leave on your own and still keep in contact with her but you dont deserve that @ all and for that long. unfortunatly you cant be emacipated but if you were to try you could possibly get him arrested for that stuff..its crazii but umm I think you should either tell or just go with your friend yet still call your mom and visit her...

Call the cops and get him away, he shouldn't be around you or your mother. If you were to get emancipated and leave her with him, who knows what might happen. Emancipation may cause your mother stress while she's sick. Just call the cops and get him away from your house and from your life.

Call the cops on that guy. That's disgusting, he's not helping you or your mom doing things like that. For sure if for some reason he ends up still in your house after you visit the authorities then get the hell outta dodge! I'm not sure about the procedure of getting legally emancipated, but you can look it up on the internet I'm sure.

yes he is probally donig this or worse to your sister but I dont think that you have told us everything that he has done to you ... do you really want your sister to go through this to if you do decide to leave and go to the cops please take your sister with you I have a home with foster children and they are glad they left there situation and now in a real loving home PLEASE TAKE YOUR SISTER AND GET OUT OF THAT BEFORE SOMETHING WORSE HAPPENS...
