Guitar tips?

Anybody have tips on being a better guitarist?

I cant help but watch videos of bands like the fall of troy and wish that I could do that stuff, he's so good. Not the best, but pretty damn good.

Any tips on becoming any better?

practice, practice, practice! also if your that interested take guitar lessons.

I agree with greatadvice101. practice makes perfect...but then nobodys perfect so just practice to get better

Learn how to read tabs, they'll probably save your life... :P
Then practice!

first off youll need a guitar,not a great one, just a cheap one thats okay to practice with
try a second hand store like cash converters for a good cheap one for around $100-$200
then, if your still at school, ask a music teacher if you can get lessons
if not, use your spare time to practice reading guitar tabs and learing more
you can print out a wide range of guitar tabs to different songs
try with some easier ones first though, like the "batman theme" or "smoke on the water"
ect...the main one thoughh is practice, try for at least 10 minutes a day, or if youve got nothing else to do, and hour or two...you need to practice a lot to get good!

well, practice mainly, but learning tabs would help a lot. then you can nail all the solos and everything. exactly like the record. you could buy some videos that teach you to play. I gota lot. they have helped me learn.

I Guess I didnt explain enough, haha.
I've been playing for about a year, I know the basics, I know how to read tabs, thats the first thing I learned how to do. I cant afford a teacher, cant afford much of anything for my guitar. my amp coard broke so I cant even practice with an amp, and I cant afford to buy another one.

its just crazy to think of how good those other guitarists got, with nothing but practice. pretty crazy. I wish I could get that good..
