Is the guitar hero 2 controller compatible with guitar hero 2?

alright so I got guitar hero 2 for x mas...guess GH3 was...too expensive or something -.- but..I'm wondering if the guitar hero 2 controller is compatible with the guitar hero 3 disk..so would I be able to use teh guitar hero 2 controller..and buy GH3...

from ebay or soemthing without the controller? or would I have to get the guitar hero 3 controller and disk?

you can use the guitar for any of the guitar hero disks. as long as the guitar and the disk go with ps2, xbox or wii. you can mix match. so it would be okay to get GH3 online and use the same controller.

I have guitar hero 1, 2, and 3 and I use the same controller
