Avocado trees can only grow in warm climates, zones 7-11) where the average minimum temp is no less than -6 C or 20 F. They neeed full sun, average moisture and good drainage, and they prefer slightly acid soil.

Bigmuma, you can grow them in australia which is almost completely zones 9-11 except for the east coast which is xone 8, too cool.

Mushrooms I know nothing about except that 4 that pop up in my grass when it's rained a lot!
