How can I train a great dane puppy?

Well for my 16th birthday present I got a Great Dane puppy. Shes 9 weeks old and huge. I know some things about them that they get huge and everything. I've seen these kind of dogs before as adults.

treats and positive reinforcement. The best things you will want to teach your dog is....lie down, sit, come, stay and heel. Those are the essentials to a good dog and then you can add more fun tricks. To do sit as a puppy push their bottom down with one had and motion the other with a treat and say sit in a stong voice but not mean. once the butt hits the floor you praise by saying good dog or girl/boy. Repeat this several times and soon the dog should get it also be patient sometimes when she/he is sitting with your force it may take then a few seconds to register if they dont do it after about 5 seconds you shoud push their bum down and then praise.
For Lie down again as a puppy do a hand movement but make them sit first. Use a hand motion toward by bringing the treat down try first without force. If they dont put the pup back to sit and use pressure on the shoulders and bring the hand down reward the dog down there dont bring your hand up as they will come back up.
Heeling can be taught anytime but it is preferable after sit has been accomplished. You will want a collar that tightens some when jerked and then releases(can be fabric or chain eithir) There are 2 ways I know how to teach. You will have to be a bit more firm toeaching this then wth sit and lie down. One way is to start walking and say heel and give a quick jerk toward your body to get their attention repeat the word and the movement until by your side some space is fine once done reward with praise or a treat. Another way is to do the same movement but the second the dog gets ahead of you your turn around and clap the side of your leg and give a small jerk and say heel once heeled just say good down and maybe bend down to pet Do Not stop and praise keep it going then at the end of the whole thing you can give a good praise and a treat but dont go over board.
For stay this is quite simple. Put your hand in front of the dogs face about 1 foot away at most and say stay then take a few steps back and then forward again and praise if she/he stayed. Progression is key to a few more steps back then going around the dog and then going a long distance where you can then start the comand come.
For the command come you will want to make you dog sit and stay. Then walk away about a 2 feet and say come. They should come bouncing to you once there make him/her sit and praise. increase the distance agian just like with stay. I hope this helps feel free to mail me with more questions if you have

You should be able to train your puppy as you would any other dog!
Use positive and negative reinforcement (ie. treats for good behavior and yelling at them for bad behavior).
