The really good ones are expensive unfortunately, the brand "CHI" is the best, but very pricey. So, if you want a good one, then you should save up and get a good one so you know it will work perfectly.

the best straightener I've ever used is the one by John Paul Mitchell.
they sell it only in hair salons, its not too expensive either,
especially since it works sooo good.
it makes your hair pin straight but it doesnt fry it, it makes it silky.

There are good inexpensive ones out there. Just make sure you get one with ceramic plates, if you can also find one with tourmaline that's even better. Check at Sally Beauty Supply, and you should be able to find one for about $50.
