What should I tell my friend who cuts?

ok, so about a month ago, I asked about my friend and her cutting. now, this friend is attempting to commit suicide. I cant decide if I should help her or not. m starting to think she just wants attention or pity, but I dont know. she sent me and all of...

our friends a letter (email) that was like a suicide note, stating that her lame life is too lame for her. I feel like I just want to lash out at her tellng her that most of us feel the same way, or if I should be nice to her and convince her it is the wrong thing to do or say. I've been thinking about reverse psycology, considering I know she wants me to tell her I need hr and bla, blah, blah. wt do you think?

well im not an expert but if it were me I woundnt risk being horrid to her just in case you get it wrong...
think how bad you would feel...
I know its realy cheesy but I would speek to someone who knows you both and is realy good with advice and stuff...a parent, teacher but not one of your other friends...u need someone impartial who wont be biased.
or you could persaude her to talk to someone in authory or a conceller prehaps...
either way dont be nasty or ununderstanding towards her because if she is serious then it might send her over the edge...

well from talking from personal experience...one of my frenzies killed herself by drinking a bottle of vinegar =] but.u should really start to make her life more interesting...try to have a lot of fun with her and make every moment of her life like it is the last one... enjoy it with her!! and make her feel beautifull

thanks for ya'll s help, but I forgot one important detail. I live in MA, and she lives in NC, because she moved last year. this makes it hard.

It is hard to deal with someone that feels that way about their life. The only solution I can offer is to pray for your friend. That above any advice you could give would help in the long run. Pray pray and pray.

well I had to deal with the same sitution myself, and I just brought out all the positive things in my friends life which made her life seem so much better than she thought it was. if that doesnt work than all you can do is just tell her how much you love her and what not so she knows what she is risking if she acually does one day commit suicide.

I had to deal with this situation on both sides. um I wouldnt recommend reverse physcology...that can make them think fine you know what ill just do it and then ull feel horrible. but if you think its for attention. id call her out on it, but not rough just gently telling the truth, while at the same time explaining everyone feels that way and that ull support her in everything. what she needs is someone telling her its okay.
