When can I take a pregnancy test?

Hello again everyone, I was just wondering; how soon after your missed period can you take a preg test. Please prompt answers wud b very much appreciated, my period is 5days late, please help

I think you should take one NOW!!! Usually a couple days after you dont get your rag...a pregnancy test should definantly work...but SOMETIMES you can be pregnant and the test will come up negative...sometimes they dont work until your 5 months pregnant!! but if you take one and I comes up Negative and you still dont get your period, then you should go to your doctor and they will be able to tell you if you are or not!!! The accuracy of home pregnancy test is best 2 weeks or more from the time of intercourse. (Some can be used sooner.) How-long-after-your-missed-period doesn't figure in.
An occasional missed period is normal, if a little heart stopping in your case.
Since you are monogamous, I'd suggest BC pills. Or if you prefer, condoms. But in that case keep emergency contraception (EC) on hand in case of a condom failure. (Or heat of passion mishap.)

u shud probly take it a week after your missed period it might help

You can take a pregnancy test as soon as the first day of your missed period. Some pregnancy tests (such as early response) may even detect it sooner.
