Getting rid of weeds

I have a lawn on pretty good soil at this point. However I get a lot of weeds. I don;t want to use too much pesticides for obvious reasons. Any ideas?

There is a type of weed killer at Wal-Mart that is grass friendly. You could check it out

you could just pull em up outa the ground but makesure you get the roots
