Is getting a face-lift vain ?

me and my Mothers Day flowers Asked by bocavicki 6 months ago, 7 answers.

Who thinks if getting a face-lift is vain or just another way to use medical advancements to our benefit ? I'm speaking about for those who are in mid-life or older.

I thought the question was directed @ people in their 50's or older but maybe you were asking people in their twenties, what they thought. Younger people wouldn't be able to answer this question too well, though, because they aren't the ones who's face is starting to sag, who's getting wrinkles around their eyes, above and below their mouth, at their cheeks, sunken eyes and lowered eyebrows, doubled and saggy chin/neck just to mention a few things.

I'm 54 and I don't think it's vain at all to 'not' want to look like that. Maybe some youngsters think that they'll never get that way but, as they say, 'you can't be 20 forever'.

I'm pretty lucky that I don't look too shabby for my age, but 'Hell yeah! If I had the money, I'd have a face-lift done in a heartbeat.'

For the person who said it's pointless...Are you not expecting to live to be my age or older? Do you think you would feel the same then?

Most platic surgery could technically be called vain... It really is simply about enhancing outside features and making them look better. But so what? If it makes a person feel good about themselves, then what difference does it make to everyone else?

that's like saying Lasik is vain. it's just a way to make yourself feel better about yourself. as long as you don't take it to far and look like dolly parton it's fine.

I don't think it is vain at all. There is nothing wrong with fighting aging as long as you can. I swear I am not growing old without a fight, lol
