well, there are different ways to cook it. but usually you just fry it , make sure you put non-stick oil on first. everyone likes it different. you can cook it all the way, so there is a bit of brown on it, or just get it warm on the pan. you can cut it into cubes, or slice it like cheese. I personally like it sliced..
GOOGLE "Tofu Recipes" there are hundreds, and it can be made to taste like meat and other things so it won't be boring all the time.
Boil it!! Okay, sounds kinda gross but its yummy in pasta and in a stir fry.
Fry it! Put it in a pan with some vegetable oil and eat it by itself, in a sandwich, pasta, stir fry, with roasted veges etc.
I think you can microwave some types of tofu too.
Just use it like meat!
You should try vegetarian sausages too, they are really yummy.
Hope this helps! =]
...I'll be off to have a big steak now =P
Smoothies are good!!!
1 cup soft Tofu
1/2 a banana
1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1 cup orange juice
What to do:
Blend all the fruits with the tofu, yogurt, and orange juice until smooth. This tofu smoothie should be a little tangy and sweet as the berries mix very well with the orange juice.
1 Refrigerated firm tofu block
cut semi thick slices
1 egg for dipping slices
seasoned bread crumbs, your choice
Olive oil, enough for deep frying
Just like breading chicken, you dip the tofu slices in beated egg, pat it intothe bread crumbs and drop into hot olive oil, unlike chicken you just wait till it fries on one side turn over and depends how fried up you want it you then take it out of the oil.
I use this along with a salad, stir fry, sandwiches, white rice, etc. it goes a long way.
