Why do so many young teens have unprotected sex?

why do so many young teens have unprotected sex?
I dont think there is a real answer for it, but I dont get it? some have unprotected sex, miss a period, panic, do a test and there not pregnant, so they do it again and turn out to be. why put yourself...

through fear and been scared when its so easy to not be scared because of all the birth control out there? =s proper confuses me tbh.

their excuses are "not having money" to get a condom and they don't want their parents to know they are on birth control and they don't want to get seen by someone buying condoms. Yet if they have unprotected sex and get pregnant.. you are pretty much screwed right? I don't see how it's worth it. I feel sorry for the teens that think they have to have sex. They are in such a hurry to grow up and they won't even know what hit em when reality sets in when they have a newborn baby and don't know what to do. Afterall, teens think they know everything and don't listen to their parents.

This is not an useless dumb question. Just so you know, we can only teach others not to have unprotected sex. I mean how much do condoms cost like couple bucks for a 5 pack or somthing. I am a proud 15 year old virgin though.

Totally agree I wish people namely girls had more self respect to say no to a guy who just wants action. I think now adays nobody values sex anymore and I think that they don't even think about the consquences. I hate when little girls b*itch about thinking there pregnant when they should be thinking of okay how am I going to care for this child and what are the next steps. I really believe in absentice and not having sex until marriage unforunately I did not get that oppertunity to share it with someone special and it's a huge regret but I didn't get the choice. Most girls don't even realize that it's a choice that it's not just something you give away. More people need to be more aware of what they are doing. I'm not saying sex is bad by any means but I think you need to be responsible before you should even be having sex with somebody . It's also shameful of how older men feel the need to take advantage of young girls who are still trying to find themselves and are not even women yet. Of course it's the girls choice but men play a big role in it. I think that young girls need to really think about things like this before they do them and they should have enough self respect to say no or at least use a condom

I think its because they think they can have sex and when the guys ready to c*m he just pulls out so they think its safe but what they don't know is you can still get prego but I guess they really don't care because even after they have 1 scare they keep doin it but personally I would always use a condom

It feels better without a condom! Hahaha sorry but its true. I didn't mean to get pregnant though, I was on birth control and we used a condom, but it broke. They also think that condomswill break so they think pulling out is safer, which it kinda is? even though its not. Their young and have no idea what could really happen, until it happens then they freak and think it wont happen again. Some teens want a kid.. they have a rough life, they think a kid will bring them love and joy, they think it will keep their boyfriend around forever.. many different reasons.
