I am a nurse and through my training I have discovered I respect doctor far less and less as time goes by.
what do YOU want to do? do you want to be a person who makes diagnosis or gives care?
these are two very dfferent roles. one is the passion of medicine and one is the advocate of the patient.
you need to be good at A&P, biochemisty, chemistry, pharmacology and have excellent lit skills...if you have at least A-levels in these, then you should be fine.
but I'm not over keen on docs anymore, I've worked with too many to have any respect for them

Should I be a doctor
should I be a doctor
