no.. anything hot causes damage to your hair.. you can use it but not on a daily basis..

Since you lost your instructions I'd say you should definitely use the straightener on dry hair. Most of them are like this anyways.

However, there are hair straighteners made specifically for dry hair, wet hair and those that come with both settings..

However I won't suggest mixing up the setting...as in using the dry flat iron on wet hair and that kind of thing. You'd end up frying your hair and damaging it in the long run.

My straightener says ON IT that it can be used on wet hair. If yours doesnt say it, then be safe and use it on dry hair.

I agree with lanternoflight. it depends on the kind of straightener you have. some of them you can use on wet hair, but I wouldn't recommend it. it's better on dry hair b/c when your hair is wet and you apply heat to it, you're basically cooking it. that's why I don't even use a hair dryer; it dries it up.

I got straighteners that goes from wet to straight..unless it something like that then id blow dry ya hair first ..also you should be using heat defence theys a few you can get ..tressemme heat defence(boots,£2.99 a big bottle).. or v05 £1.30(pink bottle).never put heat on ya hair without a defence... it makes it thin,fall out and cooks it happy

DRY unless you have a special one that you can use on wet hair only use it on dry hair because it can ruin it if it gets wet
