aquanet is the strongest hairspray I know of...I use it for theatre and dance and nothing comes out with that stuff...the only downside of it is it smells bad...but if youre looking for something that works thats it.

no
some are strong
some are weak
some leave a sticky residue
some leave residue that builds up over time
some add shine as well
some are perfumed, some arnt, ect, ect, ect
youll need to test them out and read the labels to figure out what one you like best

nope. I worked at a hair salon and im studying cosmotology and in my opinion the best hairsprays have absolutely no water in it. look at the ingredients; why would you want to add water to your hair right after its pefectly styled? water will only weigh it down. im currently using 'big sexy hair' hairspray I bought at ulta for $16 sounds expensive but its a HUGE can and comes with a free travel size one too. I LOVE the stuff.

It all depends on the brand of hair spray, or how well it'll hold on your hair.
Some Hair sprays do, and some don't it all depends though. Just get the one that's right for you.
