Dmv thingy

I just want to know in order for me to get an id at the dmv, what do I need I mean ihave a birth certificate and my social sercurity card, but what else do I need, or can my mom send a letter in the mail with my address and that will be okay, or does it...

have to be a professional thingy they send with my address on it from like a business. I live in greenville south carolina if that helps

You will more than likely need an official form of proof of your residence than a personal letter. A utility bill or any letter on a form is good. Different states have different requirements so you really should check to see how many you need with the greenville DMV.
