What do people do with divorce and the catholic church?

If your answer is no the church does not grant divorce then wht does one do ? like my fren is livin in with this married guy and he says catholic churches dunt grant divorce. How does she live her life with him wont it be a sin ? and it would be against...

the law too but then its the church that is causing the problems why wont they allow specially if its the consent of both partners? Two people are in love and want to live their live the right way why are they not allowed to do so ? Can anyone answer this please?

you can get a marriage annulled by the catholic church, which is their way of saying that it never took place in the eyes of the church. Once he is divorced he would have to file for an annulment and that is looked over by the catholic church. It is a pretty long process and they either decide to grant you an annulment or reject it.. If they give you an annulment then it is almost like you were never married and you are able to get married again by the catholic church. If the church rejects the annulment but he is legally divorced it would still be a legal marriage..just not recognized by the catholic church.

Most just go on with their lives. Either rejecting the religion, or they go on practicing it anyway. I know people who have done both.

The dirty little secret in the Catholic church, is that getting an anullment is as easy as finding a liberal priest.

well my family is catholic, and you can get divorced, its really easy and then you can get remarried, but it CANT be in a catholic church. now if your husband dies you can get remarried under the catholic church
