Disease that makes you have contractions?

Asked by sousagal76 9 months ago, 2 answers.

Is there reallly a disease/disorder/whatever that makes a woman have contractions & stuff on a regular basis? Like instead of your period, you essentially give birth (but there's obviously nothing there). I've heard of this in a few fictional stories,...

and was wondering if it's real.

I'd just Google it, but couldn't figure out how to phrase the search to actually get results. If you could find a link to an article about it, providing such a disorder is real, I would really appreciate it.

it sounds like you are describing a spontaneous abortion, but that is not a disease. There is also something called a hydatiform molar pregnancy, but like an abortion these are actual pregnancies that don't work out. Otherwise I haven't heard of that, but if I come across it during an OB/GYN clinical I will let you know.

Hmm is this when women actually think they're pregnant but they're not and their body stimulates pregnancy symptoms (big belly, swollen breasts) but they're not actually pregnant?
