Is it possible to use a digital camera for my project?

It's possible, but it will cost. If you only need sound most mp3 players will do the job. If you need visual, webcams will also work, or if you can get or borrow a camcorder that will give the best quality.

Also very doable is to put snippets together yourself with software. Sorry, I've used programs to do that but I can't remember their names.
