Listen when he or she talks to you--don't interrupt.
Be patient.
Generously give affection, little things like squeezing a hand or a kiss on the cheek go a long way.
Smile a lot.
Go out of your way to make him or her happy. (tiny presents every now and then, honest compliments, keeping plans, etc.)
Compromise.
All of these things seem like common sense, but you'd be surprised at how many people don't know how to be a caring lover.
spell it out (rocks on the beach, chocolate pieces etc etc)
write it out (whipped cream on pie, carved into an apple etc)
a picture of yourself holding a sign that says I love you
hide away little notes (in a book, inside a cd case, in their lunch box, in their shoe)
if you have a mic, make a mix cd and record your voice at the end saying you love him...
a list of your fav moments so far together/reasons you love him
create a sign, or gesture that only you two know about that means I love you
write a love letter and mail it
put it on your screensaver
play scrabble... spell it out on the board
build-a-bear - record your message in the bear
