Did the crocodile hunter really get killed?

I heard a rumor from a friend today that Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter died today. I haven't read anything yet. Did a Croc eat him finally?

Yeah, he was killed, but not by a croc. He was shooting this underwater wildlife program and he got pierced in the heart with a barb from a stingray. I feel bad for his family, but I guess everyone was kind of waiting for something like that to happen. Anyway it was supposed to be a pretty quick death, so he didn't have to suffer a lot.

He had a bunch of students watching him. He was taking a video for his daughter... what a nice surprise.
