Was I too hard on my mom?

he he he Asked by sassy007 about 1 year ago, 8 answers.

My family has ran since who knows how long ago. My mother told me I had to do track and I told her no. She told me I had to do it or I was grounded. Well I have been skipping all the practices and she found out and I told her to let me run my own life. I...

also told her that I could make my own flippin decisions. Well I got grounded and I just wondering: did I tell her off too hard?

IMHO, you were wrong....you're a minor and she is responsible for you and looking after your best interests....apologize and ask her why is it so important to her that you do track....find out - it's called 'communication'....of course it goes both ways, give her your reasons for not wanting to.

Good Luck and God Bless !!

Why the heck is your mom telling you to run track and grounding you if you don't. I think you in a way made a little of a good decision but I know she could be doing it because she cares about you a lot and your health and don't want you to do nothing but just lay around on the couch, and then you will become really big. I wouldn't know how it is but I know from all my friends and my mom how hard it is to become really big and then have to lose the weight and keep it off. Its not as easy as it is just getting fit and staying in shape now.

no you dident you have the right to choose what you do in life .Your your own temple that is your body and you can do what you want with it > If you think you told her to hard the sit down and talk to her in the mannerly way and ask her why she wants you to do that certian thing ?
and be nice dont c*m with an attiude with your mother that will make her mad just ask her why she wants you to run trak then tell her how it makes you feel

I do really agree with used2beloved. Just talk with your mother so she should know the way you feel. Don't do track as long as you aren't intrested in it anymore. Just make it how you feel about the situation. But your mom grounding you for not doing track wasn't a good idea anyways. It was your decison to not hers. It just doesn't seem fair to you for not wanting to do track or not. It was your choice. Do what you want to do. Have your mother to sit down and talk with her so she would know what to say then. Good luck with it.

I think your mom really likes running and she feels like she can do you a great service by instilling a similar love of running in you. Forcing you to do something you don't want to probably isn't going to work though.

I'm the same way about cycling. I worked my way through college working in and managing bike shops. I raced bikes 20 years ago. Even though I no longer race or ride as much as I used to there are few things in life I like better than cycling. I hope my daughter gets the cycling bug, she will always have top equipment and I'll give her a good start in the sport but in the end it is up to her weather she wants to persue it. I have to guard myself because if I'm not careful I'll be too pushy and burn her out on it. I think this is where your mom is anyway.

it was disrespectful 2 go off on your mom like that HOWEVER she needs to realize that she shouldnt be forcing you to run track if you dont really want to. your rite, it is your life & if you dont want to run track, she needs 2 respect your descision.
