How do i stop this gender separation at my school?

Hey I'm really desperate at the moment. My situation is not the worst in the world or anything, but it sure is hard to explain, so i'll try my best. So here goes -

I'm in 9th grade. But my class is VERY immature. More like 7th grade. As in... there are...

no couples whatsoever. And I know most of you will find this weird. And there's like this HUGE seperation between the guys and the girls. At lunch, the guys sit together and the girls sit together.

And there's this guy i like. I would talk to him, if i could, but i cant. you see, cos of the whole girl/boy seperation thing, it's pretty weird for a girl to randomly talk to a guy. And I'm really shy. If I talk to him, i think other people will think that i like him. and i do, i just dont want people to know that, cos im pretty sure he doesnt like girls like me. its just really confusing. this is so immature, the girl/boy seperation thing. how do i stop it? i cant just sit myself down at the guys table during lunch. it would be weird.

anyway, i guess this is pretty weird and hard to understand, so if you dont have any advice, i understand. its a hard one.

This is not a hard one...in fact very easy. Until you decide you don't care what others think and if you really want to talk to this guy then you will. I understand feeling like your different from the others sometimes isn't good but in this case you may be showing a good example to the others. Showing some maturity. So you can sit back and let life pass you by or you can decide that you like who you are and chances are this guy will also like who you are but would never know unless you make an effort. You certainly don't have to do this in front of any one...wait till he's alone and speak with him. Ask him if he finds the situation strange too?

Yeah just go for it. I mean I dont know why your class is that way at all but the only way you can get with some one is if you chance it with out worrying about what people think. If you say you class is immature why not be the mature on and go for it?

ok my school was like this to for a while but im kind of the person thats not afraid to say wat she thinks and i mean im kind of pretty but not like gorgeous and i kind of had a crush on this guy that was like the hottest guy.. i mean like every girl liked him so in the middle of lunch i went over to the guy that was sitting next to him and told him to move and now the guy i liked is my bf and weve been going out for a year and my school has totally changed theres no more seperation so just go for it ...you never know what can happen!
