Just say yes ma'am and no Ma'am and continue with what your doing from time to time you may do what she says just to please her. She may have some problems with her mind related to age so always be kind to her ( sometimes these problems are not as noticable as others). But if she is just a total control freak Hang up when she starts yelling and let her know you will hang up. It may hurt at times but it will get the point across. . . . .
My grandmother was worse...lol she would put me down and tease me and compare me to wealthy kids who had a stable home...! she would not like the way i applied my make-up.. and she would get mad if i hung out with other people from " my hood " i was considered in the family as the poor ghetto child..lol who cares i am happy.. anyways i am glad i moved away from her but she still calls.. and now i keep telling my mother to not give her the new number LOL! but anyways don't let her get to you and run your life.. you are an adult and old enough to do whatever you want.. and the hell if you want to wear your eyeliner like amy winehouse and do your eyebrows like pamela lee anderson then go ahead as long as you are comfortable and like it..!

What are some good ways to deal with an overbearing, bossy grandmother who believes everythink she thinks, says, and does is the only right way to do something?
It was one thing to be told what to do when I was a child, but I'm in my late 20's now. I...
live two states away, but she still tries to manage my life for me. If she doesn't like how I wear my makeup (sometimes, shocking her, I don't wear any), she sends me the kind she thinks I should use. She calls me to tell me what to cook for dinner that night. She sends me clothes she thinks are "appropriate" for me, even if I've asked her not to.
Yes, it sounds sweet...it's very nice of her to be involved. However, if she finds out that I don't do exactly what she tells me to do, she calls and yells at me or sends endless emails. It's a bit much. I have tried to tell her how I feel about it, but since she's always right, she cannot understand what I'm saying.
Any advice? She's my grandma, so I can't just cut her off.
