Could i have contributed to my ex's drinking

Asked by coco7809 over 4 years ago, 1 answer.

I dont know where to start, is it possible that I contributed to my ex's drinking problem, he broke up with me but afterwards he became a drinker, and an all around jerk, he says this is my fault .. should I believe that, what would his reasoning...

even be? why do ex's blame stuff on their ex girlfriend, he is seeing a girl now that even looks like me..

X's blame things on their X-GF's because then it means it is out of their control.

No, it is not your fault that your X started drinking. He chose to do that. He's the one that obtains the booze, it's his arm that lifts it, it's his mouth that opens to swallow it.

Perhaps he's hoping to make you feel guilty or maybe he is saying you caused him to drink so he will not have to work on himself.

He can think what he wants, just don't you believe him.
