Is it possible that the condom leaked?

:] Asked by xmikixmassacrex about 1 year ago, 7 answers.

This is probably a stupid question and Im not about to freak out about it yet
but I havent started my period yet (im not quite sure when Im supose to but it should be rather soon)
Me and my boyfriend had used a condom but my friends are kinda freaking
me...

out by saying that when he came it was possible that it could have leaked
from the bottom of the condom...
is that possible?
and is it possible I could get pregnant that way?

yes,it is possible
but the chance of that is pretty slim.
Wait it out
sometimes your body takes longer than other times.
if its more than 2 weeks late, consult a doctor.

I'm sure Aunt Flow is on her way. Don't stress out too much. If she doesn't show up in the next two weeks then you can worry.

That percentage isn't a stable one, and even if it were, 3% is NOT a small chance when you factor in what happens if your "dice" land in that 3/100 margin. It depends on the condom brand and whatnot. I saw a documentary on condoms once and it seemed to paint the picture of the chance being even higher than that. And to be quite honest, any statistics on condom saftey were not tailored to be accurate for a 13 (or whatever) year old child. Meaning, it Could be more possible to get pregnant the less physically developed both parties are. I'm not trying to scare you, but you should be aware of this for 'next time'. Hopefully, there will be no 'next time'.

There's an easy way to be sure you don't get pregnant though, so you won't have to worry.

Don't have sex until you're ready to deal with any and all possible consequences.

At 13, this should be obvious. Always think ahead. If your "what if" instincts kick in when thinking about it, and those thoughts worry you, as the slightest possibility worries you right now, it's probably a safe bet that it is not something you should be doing. Aside from being outright wrong, sex at this age can be potentially very harmful to your body. For some people, it has made them unable to have children later in life even if they wanted to. At 13, it's probably not the case for you, but do you want to risk it? I wouldn't.

Keep in mind condoms also don't protect against diseases. Adults have tests by then for them most of the time. Children don't always, because again, no one is expecting people that age to be engaging in sexual activity.

Sex is a dangerous game that balances the creation and destruction of lives. The younger you are, the more apt the scale is to favor the destructive side. There are better pleasures in life than sex, despite what your body makes you believe. Find them.
