Copyright law

I'm doing some homework and I'd like to know whats the punishment for copyrighting? I've looked it up and I couldn't find anything.. maybey I wasn't looking hard enough. And also what countries does it apply to? thanks

Yes you will have to look it up because it is different for different things such as photos, written word, merchandise etc. Schools also have rules about this as well, in some you can get expelled for it.

It probley varys from place to place.
I remember in my school if someone was caught with serious copy writing, they got suspended and a "0" on their project. Its honestly not worth it.
