Cooling down?

Out by the lake! Asked by djwager 6 months ago, 6 answers.

What are some ways to cool down a room without an A/C? Anything creative people have thought of? or things they know works? Besides just a fan, like windows open or closed anything?

keep your windows open overnight, close them in the morning. cover your widows with foil, if you don't mind how that looks. lay a damp (DAMP! not wet. wet will cause a short and a fire.) towel over a fan. the evaporation will lower the temperature of the air being blown by the fan. that's about it. good luck, may you always live the dream.

Open a window on the cool/shaded side of your house then put the fan, facing outward, in a window on the sunny side of the house.

You can put ice blocks or bottles of frozen water in front of the fan and then it blows chilled air into the room. I found that really effective last summer.

If the sun is on your windows, close the curtains/blinds/shutters until the evening.

Open windows early morning, evening and night, but keep them shut in the daytime.
