What jobs are available for me, now that I have been convicted of a crime and charged as a felon?

Depends. What are your skills? Do you have any schooling (i.e. college)? Did you graduate high schhol? How old are you? Have you worked before, and what is your former work experience? Was the crime that you were convicted of drug, theft, fraud, or violent related?

You can't just ask a general question like that and expect an educated answer. Give some details and maybe you can get some good advice. Yes, this is from someone with 4 felonies and a misdemeanor. Post back and I will too. :>

I have a friend who has several felonies, some of them are drug related and some of them are violent, but they kind of all happened at the same time. He doesn't want to continue to do those same things, but he can't seem to get a job anywhere. He completed a program called Project Rio, which is a state program designed to help felons find employment after release, but he found a job on his own faster than they could find one for him. He's been out for about a year or so, but every time he thinks he's found a position that will work, he gets fired for his record. I'm not sure else what to recommend to him besides calling old PO's, and the Project Rio group. Any advice would be helpful (he lives in East, TX, but could also move to Dallas).
