There is no reason that the doctor would tell you that you were not able to wear contact lenses.

This is a good question for your optometrist not your doctor! And yes there can be reasons to advise someone against wearing contact lenses. Some poeple suffer from various eye deseases that do not permit them to confortably wear contacts. Also others might have problems with the amount of tears therefore making it very unconfortable. Last but not least, peoples eyes are shaped differently and it is possible that certain eye shapes make it hard to confortably and safely wear contact lenses.

I'm pretty sure contact lenses are fine for MOST people, but like the first person said, there are exceptions. If you have certain eye conditions, you might not be able to wear contacts without the health of your eyes suffering.
