I don't agree with this. I agree with the evidence that it is more hygenic, but I don't agree with doing something to a baby that will ultimately scar them for life.

I was raised a catholic and I was forced to go to a catholic school, and because of that, I am 'classed' as 'catholic' - I don't practice, preach ro anything, but because of a choice MY parents made, I have had to live as something I don't want to be.

the same applies with anything, I wouldn't get my cilds ear pierced, choose their religion and certainly not get their body cut, becuase of something I want...

if, when he gets older, he chooses too, then fine, but I don't think that a decision that he will never be able to reverse should be done.

are you circumcised?

it will also make his member sem bigger which will help him once hes old enough to be botherd by such things.

I notice that all you who say yes are women. Tell me... how long have you all had pen*s's? You must have them if you know how much easier it is to clean it if its snipped...

If you do it your cruel. There is no need. You can clean an uncircumcised pen*s just as easy as a circumcised one.

"its of great aid in keeping his pen*s free of infection as it is easier to mantain clean"
STANDARD levels of hygene keep it clean. You dont need to mutilate the little guy.

"it will also make his member sem bigger " How could cutting bits off make it seem bigger? thats not true.

Also bear in mind that 90% of the nerve endings in a pen*s are located in the foreskin. If you cut this off your desensitising his pen*s. I'm sure he will love you for that when he gets older.

Anyway, this was discused before I'm sure youll get plenty of info here

I have two boys who are both circumsided. This was NOT my decision...MY HUSBAND made this decision. He is circumsided and he wanted his boys to be also. His father is not and his father always told him it would be better to have it done. My husband was informed from his father that it's harder to keep clean especially for little boys (around 6) who hate to wash themselves and don't want their parent to wash them either (this would be my oldest son). Also, a friend of mine had an older brother (around 26) who got circumsided. Apparently he also thought it was hard to keep clean.

This is a personal decision that everyone who has a son needs to make. Personally I think the father should be the one to make the decision.

I also think that everyone on here needs to remember that the baby is only one day old and the doctors do numb the p*nis therefore, it does not hurt them.

I vote against circumcision because it is unnecessary surgery. There is some danger of complications and while it does make hygiene a little easier may offer some protection from STDs I don't see the benefits outweighing the risks. I say leave well enough alone.

ObTrivia, until very recently doctors argued that infants didn't feel pain or that they would quickly forget the ordeal so they did not provide any anesthetic before circumcisions. Public outcry reversed this practice.
