Cheeks feel burned

ok, so I got this acne medication from my doc, and after I started to use it my cheeks have felt wind burned, they look fine, but even washing my face burns like hell. what do I do,should I discontinue use?

I cant even put unscented, no chemical lotion on without cringing, thanks
