Why are some questions reworded?

Why do some questions get reworded and some dont? mine are always reworded and a lot of peoples questions get untouched.

I believe that the editor cleans up some of the posts. It has something to do with the questions and answers showing up on search engines.

These are only guesses because I don't know exactly what was changed, so here goes ...

If you type in certain no-no words they might be changed by a filter (typing the p-word or c-word meaning a ladies private parts). I know that if I type a colon followed by an end parenthesis it changes it to a graphic smiley face like HERE <<<.

Also I looked at some of your questions and sometimes your fingers may not keep up with your thoughts. If you don't re-read your question before you submit it, you may not realize that what you send isn't what you wanted to say.

I haven't submitted many questions, but I've put in a few answers, and the only time anything changed was smiley faces and one time maybe a word got a letter changed to an asterisk -- but I might have done that myself, I am not sure.

Yup, it's what texaskimmie said. I change the titles for search engine optimization. That is, complete sentences, with no misspellings and certain words get better results in search engines, thus more people go on the site.

...Actually, to be perfectly clear: it's for our site search, interest matching, and internal search processes. The search engine optimization (external search engines) is a secondary issue.

Our related interests, photos, and questions algorithms all rely on the title tag of your question. And, it's a usability issue.

At least 20% of our questions have ZERO to do with the question itself in the title tag - I have no idea why this is, but it's a major issue. Could you imaging reading the question list with only "help" as the title of the last 20 questions? It would be terrible.

Then, of course, there is the other issues mentioned. But primarily, it's for our site search and usability.
