Well, .avi files are video files that usually have audio embedded. I'm sure there is a program you could find for free online that will rip the audio from the file.

yeah, I know its video. but they are AVI, and I want to put them on my mp3 player, and the only way I can is if the file is an mp3 file, so I need to find a way to change it.

can I change AVI files on my computer to an MP3 file?
I have windows XP, I dont know how much of a difference that makes, but I thought you would want to know.
and I need to change these files from AVI to MP3 and I dont know how.
