Asked by steelerg1rl 10 months ago, 7 answers.

Our cat is always hungry, we had her for about t 3 months, she was a stray, vet says about a year old. She always wants to eat and is getting fat. How often should a cat have food in their bowl?

About twice a day. When you wake up, and when you eat dinner.

Dry food twice a day, wet food isnt necessary as long as she drinks enough water (my cat managed to get borderline fat on this stuff)

Talk to your vet with your concerns and follow his advice. Then Don't let her snack, or if you use food as a reward for training, that has to come out of her daily allotment. She will beg like mad at first.
Otherwise you will just have to put up with a fat cat.

I agree with everyone above. But I've noticed my cat gets fat every winter (putting on weight as well as thicker fur) and then slims down every summer. Apparently this is natural, to keep them warm. So if you feed you cat the right amount, don't worry about a bit of weight gain in the winter.
