I'll tell you but in order to have a Xmas poinsettia you have to start in august or september. This year you will have to buy one. Then next year you will have two.

Forcing a poinsettia to bloom requires two (2) months of long night time darkness, meaning almost NO light for the plant. It can receive about 6-8 hours of light during the daytime. You need to keep the soil somewhat moist but not soaking. After the two month lockup, take out the plant and it will start to bloom.

OR buy a new one each year.

SCIENCE ALERT: The 'flowers' are actually red leaves. The actual flowers are the yellow centers.
