Just a bit of info.
I was recently talking to a professional wild animal handler, and he said that monkeys make terrible pets. They can be destructive and just plain dangerous. So be aware of that. And he raises and cares for several monkeys as well as snakes (pythons and cobras), a hyena, and other wild animals.
Just saying.
monkeys arnt pets
they need there jungle enviroment to survive
keeping them in a house would be cruel
they cant adapt to our enviroment and eat our food
they just cant live a happy healthy life with humans
they need to be around other monkeys to survive
...in the wild
not in a house
keeping one would be cruel,
there not like cats and dogs
Humans and primates can catch the same diseases. Chicken pox can kill a monkey, but hept b is neutral in them and not in us. So it varies with the disease, monkeys should be vaccinated and have blood tests yearly, this usually is a good preventive maintenance plan. Most of the documented cases of diseases being transferred from monkey to human has come from monkeys being used as lab rats, and who knows what those people are injecting them with. The CDC website has related articles online that you can look up. Also try http://www.primastore.com
