yes you can play ps2 on ps3 system I have ps3 and I use ps2 games on ps3 it works

40GB you cant but I think that the 60GB was the best for Ps2 Games. The 80GB will still play a lot though.

I heard there is a program you can download to make the 40gb version play ps2 games I have not been able to find it. Does anyone know of this program???
