Can you get to the other side without dying?

Asked by that_gurl18 about 1 year ago, 9 answers.

hey people, seen as the earth on which we live is the lower heavens and space is the middle heavens, I just wanted to know if you can past space and reach over to the other side, which is the higher heavens, where God/Jesus is physically without dieing,...

I know this may seem like a funny question but is it possible for an astronaut to past space and reach over to the other side???

In the book of Genesis mankind starts to build a tower to the heavens but God thwarts their efforts.

Based on this one would assume that God would not allow man to reach the heavens on his own even if man was able to.

If I am right, there are just two holy people in the Bible that gets to the other side without dying. One (I forgot his name )just walks with God and the other (Elijah) was carried away by a chariot of fire that carried him to heaven.

They went there through the power of God. So, never could a man through his human initiatives get there.

The Bible doesn't pinpoint the exact location of Heaven - yes, God could take you up into Heaven as He has 2 others, without death if desired.

No it would not be possible for man to do this himself.

Can you get to heaven without dying? Not on your own efforts. True, God took at least two people to heaven directly (Enoch, Gen 5:23 and Elijah, 2 Kg 2:11) and possibly Mary, if you accept the Catholic doctrine of the Assumption. However, that is not the way to bet.

Consider John 11, the story of the death of Lazarus. Especially in verses 28-37, the question is whether Jesus could have kept Lazarus from dying. Jesus himself is deeply troubled, and weeps. I believe this indicates that, no, as Jesus himself accepted death, so we also will only find life by accepting and going through death.

Consider also: would you want to be in heaven in your present body, with all its frailties and flaws? Would you not rather be in a risen body?

We may speak of God or the saints as being in "heaven," but most people realize that is not the same as "beyond the sky." Heaven, the real heaven, is a far different place than anything we could reach, no matter how far we go in this universe.
