Why can't I download anything from the web?

My computer will not download any files or pictures from the internet. I can't install any updates, download movies, pics, or anything. Internet Explorer does not work or open at all. I can only go online through my yahoo browser. The only way I can get...

files into my comp is to use another comp to transfer the files via flash drive. Any help is appreciated.

You may have a block on or a virus. If you can't find any blocks I recommend doing a full restore. I know it's a pain, especially if you play the Sims or something, since you can't put that on a flash drive, but it should help. My dad is a computer guy and that's what he always tells me to do or does to people when I go along with him.

If your internet does not work or open most likely you have a virus or spyware/adware. I suggest you use Norton or McAffee first to scan your computer then use a sypware removal software like Spybot or Ad-Aware before you do the restore. Sometimes a restore won't get rid of the virus, it just brings the virus back to the restoral point, depending on how the virus is. So just to be safe do a scans first before you do the restore.
