Can I take cough syrup with a z-pac?

I have pneumonia,they gave me a z-pac.
Im sitll coughing like crazy though,can I take something like tylenol cough and cold,or something for the coughing?
or no?

Yeah. The z-pac is only an antibiotic, so cough meds won't cause any affect or overdose if that's what you're worried about. So it's fine if you take both at the same time.

I would call the dr's office just so they can call one in for you for 2 reasons. 1. you want to get something that is going to be an expectrant rather then a suppressant because if you supress the cough then you will stop the coughing and not get all the bad stuff you have in your lungs out and that can be very very dangerous.
What you want to do is have a cough medication that gets all the bad stuff out but also stops the pain in your chest from all the coughing...which they dont sell over the counter..because it has codeine in it...so since you already went to the dr. all you have to do is call them up , say you were in , you got an antibiotic and that you are coughing like crazy and wonder if you can have a cough medicine called into the pharmacy.
