Should I worry about bleeding during sex?

Asked by geneva about 1 year ago, 4 answers.

I am a thirty eight year old woman and have been refraining from sex for the last 4 rears until about a month ago ,and when we started having sex I started bleeding not a lot but enough , I was not close to having my period and I had a vaginal examination...

about a year ago right before I had my tubes tied. Is there a reason for concern? This has not happened to me before ever. geneva

I seriously think you should get checked out. I waited a while to have sex too but I didnt bleed at all. I think there is somethin wrong and you might need a pap or another examination with a doctor or somethin.

I know that once you loose your viginity.. your hole can close up again.. and so if you wait a while to have sex you can bleed b/c its like tearing it open again. just to be sure you can do to the doctor if your really worried about it.

You just need to work it in a bit, think of it as a car sitting in a car for 4 years... its probably going to need some oil and a bit of TLC (tender loving care).... but none the less maybe you should go see a mechanic (obgyn)

It could be that your cervix is inflamed and some women as they get older can have a "softening cervix." I was constantly bleeding during sex and it got to the point that it wasn't worth. Then I had a hystorectomy and OMG! Should have done that after my child was born!
