As a hairstylist recently educated in hair products--I have learned how over the counter products you buy in stores (not in salons) are bad for your hair. These companies use alcohol and wax fillers in their products to increase their volume. Alcohol is very drying, and wax fillers cause a lot of build up that are heavy on the hair--causing further breakage on damaged hair. They do this so they can produce more of their product and sell it cheaper. So I do recommend that you switch from things you buy in stores to salon products. Much worth the price.
I highly recommend Redken's Butter Treat to soften your hair. Once hair is spilt, broken or damaged, there really is no "repairing" it. You can only treat it to make what you have softer. Sleeping with your hair down also makes it worse--so I recommend that when you go to bed at night, rub baby oil or a good salon conditioner through your hair, braid it in a nice soft secure braid, and sleep that way. The key is to keep it as soft as possible at all times.
If you're low on cash, a good salon product that works great but is low cost is the Great Clips Solutions brands. Rather than chargin $15.00 for a bottle of shampoo, they charge $6.95. VERY good price and their products work wonderfully. So head into your nearest Great Clips and try their moisturizing shampoo and conditioning balm.
And, keep up with your trims to keep those ends as healthy as you can.
Well, that would almost sound as if it is Dry & brittle...
Believe it or not, and Yes I a Straight & Married... (Not Gay) - Not aginst equal human rights.
BUT: I Use Garnier- Fructis:
"Sleek & Shine"
My hair grows super FAST and I have to have hair cuts about once a month...
This particular is a weightless Anti-Frizz SHINER.
Now, the conditioner I also use
& Shampoo... It works wonders, it really does...
My hair is unbelievably soft!
My wife likes to run her fingers through my hair... lol
HAHA!
Remember, Hair Dye can be very harsh on you're hair...
The best treatment would be to take good care of it, and use products that would moisturize & repair your hair... IF you have already tried this...
I would contact a good salon and check if they have any Pro-Products to treat it...
Now, thats just a suggestion....
But I do hope you get you're desired results!
Good Luck
~Ben~
I bleach my hair a lot. It does break off a lot too which is mega scary although I have a short style so its not too bad. What I have found to work is after I have rinsed the bleach out I rinse my hair with lemon juice in order to try and balance the ph. I use blue toned shampoos to stop brassiness and rinse with lemon juice for the first few times I wash it before I put a really good conditioner on. Then when that has been rinsed off when it is still sopping wet I run some serum through it before leaving to dry naturally whenever possible. I hope that helps you!
My hair was totally damaged after bleaching it and here's what I used to heal and stop breakage: GOT2B Hottie Shampoo and Conditioner in the blue bottle (cheap at Big Lots) and deep conditioning treatments once a week for 1 hour with extra virgin olive oil (just the basic one you cook with.) It saved my hair and smells wonderful! Use a wide tooth comb when hair is wet-no brushing until it's dry and not heat (blow dryers, curling irons, etc) since this will kill your hair.
