That is GOD's punishment to you...(sorry that's my POV). lol.. You will not given birth a child if you used contraceptive., What birth control you used, hope not pills.. I think it has many side effects to your body.

ermical - what a LOVING god you have.
melissain...
god is not punishing you. it takes a while, sometimes a very long time to get back into cycle after stopping birth control. I used birth control when I was first married. Then stopped when we decided to have a child.. and it was fine...
just ask my son...

god has nothing to do with you and your reproductive organs
and the bible is an old thing, birth control is a relatively new thing
in the bible there isnt anything about new things like that, unless its in a new bible...written by people
if youve been on the pills that long then its going to take some time
even up to a year
also things like exessive exerscise, smoking and drinking will make both males and females less fertile...
so if your really worried, go get your fertility checked

There's nothing in the Bible about birth control, and if there were, you could safely ignore it as the ramblings of ancient lunatics anyway.

Um, birth control was not around when the bible was written. I know there are some parts to the Catholic Bible that aren't the same as the regular bible, but I havn't read them yet. Just remember the bible was written a long time ago, and birth control was invented in the last century.

There is a passage in the Bible where God struck down Onan for puling out. However, that was punishment for not fulfilling his familial obligation under law (Amoeba, correct me if I'm wrong) and not for an attempt at birth control per se.

Besides, the creator of the universe, should one exist, has more important things to consider that what pill you take or what you do with your womb.

eleni -
yep...don't spill your seed upon the ground...he had been directed by his father to impregnate his brother's widow.
Onan just wanted sex, so he pulled out.

I believe that anyone who thinks birth control is sinful, and especially that childlesness is God's punishment for it, is really, really wrong. A few Christians, particularly celebate men, have got hung up on this. The majority of us married Christians use birth control to plan our families responsibly. I was on the pill for years, and it took a while to conceive our first child when I came off it, but I love and trust God too much to imagine that He treated that time as some kind of punishment. Nature just takes a while to get back in line sometimes, that's all. Look on your childlesness as a medical issue, not as God's punishment. Pray to Him too, and trust Him in what you need to do next. Don't be scared of Him - He loves you!

The Old Testament says that 'pulling out' is punishable by death.

*thinks*

But... there's also pornography in the Old Testament, so I can't take any of it seriously. Christians shouldn't place much emphasis on the O.T. either, it'll only tend to confuse them.
