Birth control?

I was thinking about going on birth control, and I talked to my mom about it. We had a discussion about it and she told me a few things, one thing she told me is that my sister and her friends daughter both gained like 20 pounds when they went on the...

pill. Is this true? Or is my mom just telling me silly things like that so I won't want to go on the pill?

I would suggest talking to your doctor about side effects because every person is different with meds.

you may gain a bit of weight on the pill, but not as much as you would gain if you were to get pregnant. There are also other methods of birthcontrol you could try if you are concerned about the possible weight gain, speak with your doctor. Also, remember to double up on birth control methods while having sex (pill and condom, or depo and condom...)

Which form of birth control works best? The pill? The shot? Or are they all the same?

The shot you dont have to remember. But I believe they are both about the same, they are more effective than a condom so I have heard... but they dont stop STDs. I would talk to your talk to your doctor about all these facts because he is the only one who can give you accurate information on the subject.
