*** I dont think sucking a baby out of a womb is a freedom I would be bragging about.***

Of course you wouldn't, you're pro-FORCE... and a blastula is not a baby. You seem more keen on just describing it as violently and morbidly as possible, instead of making a valid argument to support your stance.

***It surely is not something the founders of this country had in mind, when they were thinking of personal freedoms.***

They weren't think much at all about women's rights, or equality for that matter... what's your point?

I believe that some people use it for that.

I dont think it should be used like that. if abortion is available to people they need to use it responsibly, not just because they didnt feel like using a condom

Abortion should NEVER be used as a method of birth control...

rickd, come on, stop trying to stir up trouble, abortion is obviously not a good form of birth control... however, if people learnt alternative forms (you know, in those programs you're so against) perhaps it wouldnt be necessary...

Indeed Ty, I agree. Considering human nature, the best way to reduce abortions is to FULLY educate everybody in all the ways to prevent pregnancy, and give them access to those methods.

abortion adoption condoms and birth control is all the woman's choice

It's not exactly a "practical form of birth control." That's what condoms, the pill, the patch and things like that are for.

Abortion should only be for people who have used the following birth control methods and have failed. For those who used no birth control at all, then abortion shouldn't be an option for them.

If your going do it then you have to deal with the consequences. You want to have sex, either protect yourself or plan to start a family...that's life inside of her regardless of what stage it is in..

I don't think its practical, but it IS optional...

***For those who used no birth control at all, then abortion shouldn't be an option for them.***

SERIOUSLY?!?!? You want to FORCE stupid and/or irresponsible people to have kids? Do you think they're smart and/or responsible enough to be parents? Since you want to take away freedoms, then why not FORCE them to use birth control in the first place? Or FORCE them to abstain from all sexual activity?

Since you want to take away freedoms, - I dont think sucking a baby out of a womb is a freedom I would be bragging about. It surely is not something the founders of this country had in mind, when they were thinking of personal freedoms.

The founders of this country had in mind...? Seriously?
You do know slavery was allowed back when the declaration of independance stated that "all men are created equally"
I would try another argument rickd...

There is no doubt there are those so callous, cruel, evil that use it for 'CONVIENCE' - many will even tell you so to your face - zero respect for Human life - they don't care now, but they will Judgement Day when every knee shall bow - sadly, Yes, some use it as a method of birth control.

If Bush manages to take away our access to birth control, the increase in abortions as a method of birth control will go way up...

how can 'abortion' be a birth control? the entire concept of 'birth control' is to eliminate the possibility of pregnancy in the first place.

I totally accept that women may need an abortion because of what ever reason, however, actually planning and using abortions as a means of nt having a baby is wrong.

having an abortion is common practice, in many eyes in society, however, the fact that is is so readily practised should not deminish the significance of the event..

it is and always should be a HUGE decision to have an abortion, and not one taken lightly, it should only be done when the result of pregnancy is detrimental to either the life of the parent or the child...not a premeditated concious choice to simply not attempt to avoid being pregnant in the first place.

again, I don' judge anyone who wants or needs to have an abortion, I do however, think that a women who relies on an abortion is an irresponsible one...

the health implications of an abortion can be significant, and the chances of miscarriage for future pregnancies goes up every time a women has an abortion...
tsk tsk for this question. did you really need to ask it?

once is an accident, twice is stupidity and three times is thoughless (the general idea on 'making a mistake')

oh rickd, you know that no one will agree that it's a good form of birth control.

but that doesn't meant that we think the RIGHT to make that decision about OUR female bodies should be taken away from us by a bunch of right-wing WHITE MEN.

seriously.

birth control is preventative measures you take before sex which pretty much rules abortion out as a birth control at all. sex is a responsibility if your going to do it you need to be able to be responsible for the consequences wether it be a baby, an std, or hiv/aids. in instances where a person is raped then they have the right to make the decision of whether or not to keep the fetus

A better name for it would be 'conception control'

I'm against abortion...religious beliefs...but putting those aside...I think that abortion teaches irresponsibility, especially among the younger generations out there getting pregnant. they need to be taught to use at least a condom to avoid pregnancy as well as the spread of disease.

I also feel like some women have NO idea what losing a child or choosing to lose a child through abortion will do to their bodies and/or minds. the effects can be very negative and lasting. it's not something that should be taken lightly and put into such common use as to be called "birth control".

for me...it's just not right.
