I've had the same straightner "keelmart" is talking about and it works good, but causes major split ends, and it doesn't work very good after a few weeks.
but, I do have a remington straightner, its a profesional salon style or something,
and instead of having metal or whatever on the straighening part, its a carbon fiber. it works really good and prevents split ends and frizz. it keeps your hair straigh all day.
- and considering that I have naturally curly hair, like really "sherly temple" curlys, it would work perfect on someone with a little bit of wave, or curls and frizz.
- it was actually only about 40-50 dollars at wal-mart.
- but if you have the money, I would recomend a "chi" . its a really, high heated professional straightner. you can find these at most any hair salon, even Fantastic Sam's. but its not cheap. its about 150-200 dollars.
good luck with finding a straightner.

Chi straighteners are AMAZING- they are about 100 bucks but worth every penny. you ccan usually order it from your hair salon..they make your hair so silky and shiny and it doesnt puff out of frizz out 1 hour after..people cant even tell that I have the tightest curls when I use mine...its the best..and it makes my hair look and feel sooo healthy. I also say one used to make a spiral curl. You can wrap the hair around the straigtener and pull down and it makes the hottest looking spiral.
A great Hair Iron that I know of and Love, is the Karmin Titanium. No steam button, but honestly, with this iron you do not need one. It is 1" and can bes used to curl, wave and straighten hair. It leaves hair super smooth, shiny and causes less damage than regular ceramic hair irons.
The best part is that is a Professional Hair Straightening Iron and is only $99.99 with free shipping at http://www.myhairstylingtools.com
Hope this Helps!!
