How do you lower the pitch on a bass drum?

im not in it but I am a geek so im told Asked by qwerty628 8 months ago, 4 answers.

my friend wants me 2 ask the fun advice community how can he make his bass drum sound lower

Advisor-small

He might be able to put in or take out padding/pillows to give it a different sound or use a different type of skin. As for tuning, you loosen all the lugs under the desired sound you want on both the batter (top) and resonant (bottom) sides and then tighten them back up in a star pattern. However, make sure that when you tap the drum with a drum key that the area near each lug on one particular side of the drum is in tune with each other; the batter side can be tuned higher than the resonant side. I think it's best to start with the resonant side first.
