Baptism,1st communion and marriage?

Ok so I was wondering and I'm catholic,ok I'm not very religious but recently my girlfriend told me that If you want to get married that you would first have to be baptised and that I would have to go through my 1st communion but the thing is I wasn't...

baptised so she says I still the devil in me and that for my first communion I would have to go to the church school for 2 years and the thing is I really don't want to go to church school for 2 years having to wake up at 5am I mean regular school is hard enough I don't need this stressing me out more
and she says that without those 2 things I can't get married or that I won't be considered married under gods eyes and something like that I mean I'll do the baptism but the 2 year thing I'll be done with that when I'm 18 and I wished my mom had gotten me to do it sooner before I was 10 maybe and now my question is can I still get married even if I only have one of those things?or do I need both?

I don't think you need them...don't think.

To be married in a Catholic church you have to be baptisted, I'm pretty sure you need to have your first communion, and you ALSO have to have Confirmation. I'm pretty sure Penance too. But yes you do need those things. But you should not get them just because you want to get married, the reason Catholics receive these sacraments are because they want to and they want to please God. If you aren't going to go to church regularly afterwards, then you might as well just save yourself the time and get married in your backyard.

Marriage is meant to be a life time commitment...

The rate of divorce is 1 in 2...

Divorce is very painful...

At least for the one left behind...

and especially the children...

Often their lives are messed up because of it...

Catholics, more than any other religion, try to keep families together, seems to me.

you need to make all the sacraments before you can be married. You don't have to go to school for 2 years. When you get engaged and pick a church for the wedding you have to take marriage classes. they are about 6 weeks long..you can talk to the priest about being baptized and making communion and confirmation. there may be some class involved but its not 2 years long, probably just a few weeks.

It will depend on the priest. I was married in a Catholic church by a Catholic priest in a Catholic ceremony, and I was Protestant (at the time).

The simple answer is, just don't get married.

Well, since your Cathlec, I'm sure you need to go through the Baptism before marriage.
I don't know how that works but, you could check with your church.
